About Organization

The Nepal Commercial and Allied Workers Union (NCAWU) is an affiliated organization with Nepal Trade Union Congress (NTUC). It consists of active laborers engaged in various businesses and trades from different districts, including the capital city, Kathmandu, to rural areas. These individuals, working as laborers with minimal capital, came together to form this union. Officially registered in 2068 BS, the first convention of this union was held on February 10, 2069 BS, in Lahan Municipality, Siraha District.

Before the merger of Nepal Trade Union Congress (NTUC) and Democratic Confederation of Nepalese Trade Unions (DECONT), both unions were actively involved in the industrial labor sector under the names of Nepal Trade Sector Workers Union and Nepal Shopkeepers Association respectively. Through the merger of Democratic Confederation of Nepalese Trade Unions (DECONT) and Nepal Trade Union Congress (NTUC), these two unions are now actively operating in this field under the name of Nepal Commercial and Allied Workers Union.

Operating businesses with minimal capital and laboring as workers in businesses across the nation, these workers, through the Nepal Commercial and Allied Workers Union, have been actively fighting for their rights and interests. This federation, now spread across 61 districts in the country with a membership of over ten thousand, has embraced the principles of nationalism, democracy, and socialism as its guiding principles. In the near future, the organization aims to expand its reach to the remaining 16 districts and strengthen its organization through consolidation and expansion efforts.
